Nokia 2630 Unlocked Cell Phone--U.S. Version with Warranty (Black)
Perfect for those looking for an easy-to-use, affordable handset to stay connected to friends and family, the unlocked, dual-band GSM/EDGE Nokia 2630 is a svelte, stylish phone that's a great mobile companion. Belying its entry level status, the 2630 comes packed with such must-have bonus features as a digital camera with video capture capabilties and Bluetooth connectivity for easy hands-free talking. Other features include dual LCD screens, speakerphone, 2.5mm wired headset jack, access to personal email, and up to 7 hours of talk time.
This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides dual-band connectivity (850 MHz, 1900 MHz). It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
Phone Features
The candybar Nokia 2630 has a large 128 x 160-pixel screen and easily accessible keypad that's complemented with an oversized five-way navigation pad. It also includes send/end keys and two soft keys. The phonebook can store up to 1000 contact entries in its 11 MB of internal shared memory, and the phone can display the most recent 20 dialed/received/missed calls.
This phone provides Bluetooth version 2.0 wireless connectivity, and includes profiles for communication headset, handsfree car kits, and file transfer. You can connect your laptop (either via Bluetooth or wired USB) and enjoy dial-up networking--surf the Internet, send email, and access files from a server.
The 2630 offers a full range of email, text, and multimedia messaging options. It includes support for IMAP4, POP3, and SMTP email. In addition to SMS text and MMS multimedia messaging, this phone incorporates Nokia Xpress audio messaging, which allows you to personalize messages in a spontaneous and creative way. By using a specially designed menu, an audio message can be recorded and sent with only a few clicks of a button. Xpress audio messages can be sent to all MMS-enabled GSM handsets, and can also be shared with multiple recipients.
The VGA digital camera can capture stills at up to a 640 x 480-pixel resolution, and the camera includes a 4x digital zoom to help you get closer to the action. You can also capture short video clips (at up to 2 minutes) in sub-QCIF resolution (128 x 96 pixels, 8 fps). Personalize your phone with MP3 or 24-voice polyphonic ringtones.
Other features include:
* Enjoy music and news on the move with the FM radio (FM radio requires headset to be attached)
* Four pre-installed games
* PC synchronization for contacts, calendar, and images
* PIM tools: Calendar, expense manager, calculator, converter
* WAP 2.0 web browser (xHTML)
* T9 predictive text input
* Hearing Aid Compatibility Rating: M3/T3
* Language support: American English, Spanish, Canadian French
* Bluetooth profiles: HSP (communication headsets), DUN (dial-up networking), FTP (file transfer), OPP (object push for business cards, calendar items, and pictures), PAN (personal area networking)
Vital Statistics
The Nokia 2630 weighs 2.33 ounces and measures 4.13 x 1.77 x 0.39 inches. Its 700 mAh lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6 hours of talk time, and up to 310 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies. This phone comes with a one-year warranty from a third party provider.
The Nokia 2630 is a good practical phone with a useful camera and speakerphone. There's nothing more useful than a speakerphone when waiting on hold. The FM radio is an added benefit although it requires that you have earphones handy in your pocket or purse.
I threw away my free flip-phone from the provider (actually I stashed it in a drawer) and shopped for a phone with the features I wanted. Buying an unlocked phone is a lot cheaper than upgrading from my service provider.
The Nokia 2630 is really thin making it great for a pocket phone. The best part is that it has no side buttons to accidentally push that hang-up on the caller when you reach in your pocket to get the phone. The sound quality could be a little better especially in noisy environments but I haven't found that to be a major problem. All in all I am quite satisfied.

Nokia 6300, Brushed Silver Phone (Unlocked) US VERSION
Easy to use without sacrificing style, the Nokia 6300 offers great voice communication, plus a number of other useful features. The stylish and compact phone comes loaded with an integrated 2.0-megapixel digital camera and 3GPP video player/recorder, MicroSD card support, Bluetooth, and support for Java applications and games. The Nokia 6300 also features Macromedia Flash Lite 2.0 for interactive user experiences with video, audio, and graphics. This unlocked cell phone can be used with a GSM network service provider and it provides tri-band connectivity (850 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz) as well as Class 10 EDGE data network compatibility. It does not come with a SIM card, and it requires that you provide a SIM card for usage with your selected service provider.
Design
First and foremost, the 6300 is designed for stylish simplicity. Large, easy-to-press buttons are arranged on a sleek rectangular-shaped case. A large 240 x 320, 16.7 million color display resides above a five-way center button that controls most of the phone's menus and functions. A 2.5mm headphone jack is provided if you want to use a wired headset for calls or for music playback on the built-in music player. Volume control keys are available on the right side of the phone, while USB connectivity is featured on the phone's bottom edge. The backside of the phone houses the device's 2.0-megapixel camera lens. The phone features a microSD slot that accommodates cards up to 2 GB, and lastly, because the 6300 uses an internal antenna, there's nothing to snag or break off.
Calling Features
The 6300's built-in address book can store up to 1000 contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers and addresses. In addition to a vibrate alert, the phone is compatible with MP3 and MIDI ringtones, as well. It even supports video ringtones. Different ringtones can be set for groups of callers so you know who's calling without having to look at the device. A call log keeps track of your recent dialed calls, as well as your most recent missed or received calls. Plus, there's a speakerphone so you can talk all you want without having the phone to your ear. Push-to-talk and a voice command feature are also included (push-to-talk usability is carrier dependent).
Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The 6300 has all the bases covered when it comes to messaging and Internet connectivity. Use the phone's built-in picture messaging capability to send text, graphics, and pictures to your friends. The phone features support for instant messaging applications, and there's a built-in WAP 2.0 Web browser (supports HTML, xHTML, TCP/IP) for downloads and mobile Web browsing. The phone also supports Nokia Xpress Audio Messaging (AMS)--a fast and simple way to send voice or sound clips via MMS. T9 text entry, a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit--a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.
A number of handy software tools are bundled with the 6300 including a calculator, a calendar, and an alarm clock. The 6300 also comes with SyncML already built-in--an easy way to sync your phone and PC's contact list and calendar via USB or Bluetooth. If needed, the 6300 can be used as a wireless modem for laptops and PDAs. Use the supported EDGE high-speed data transfer protocol for high-speed Internet connectivity.
The 6300 also sports an airplane mode feature, which allows the user to safely use the non-wireless functions of a phone (such as music, games, or organizer functions) on an airplane during flight.
Imaging and Entertainment
Customize the graphics on the 6300's screen to give your phone a look that suits your tastes. Plus, the 6300 is Java enabled, meaning it supports games written on the Java platform. Document your latest adventure with the phone's advanced 2.0-megapixel camera that features an 8x digital zoom, or with the camera's supported video recorder. The built-in advanced music player supports MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, H.263, and H.264 music files. Lastly, high-quality video can be streamed straight from the device. And because the phone supports the A2DP and AVRCP Bluetooth stereo profiles, you can wireless stream music to compatible Bluetooth-enabled stereo headphones, enabling completely untethered music enjoyment.
